Field Trip to George Eastman House!

On Saturday, April 26th the A-3 students took a trip to Rochester to visit the George Eastman house and Museum.

The George Eastman house was such a great experience for the students. We learned of George Eastman's contributions to the world of film cameras and the ease of capturing memories today. The most impressive information we learned was that Mr. Eastman was an avid hunter and enjoyed gardening. He kept maticulous records or what types of plants, trees and flowers he had and exactly where they were. This made it easy for the University of Rochester to restore the garden to its exact design.
George Eastman contributed millions of dollars to the University of Rochester as well as MIT in Massachusetts where both universities were able to establish their well known medical and engineering schools.
The museum offers a lot of great family tours and events. Check out their website for a list of upcoming events.

Students visiting the entertainment room that Mr. Eastman had remodeled. It took them 8 hours to get 9 feet of space through 14' steel walls.

Mr. Eastman's living room where live music is still played every Sunday.
