Summer program is over already?!

Summer program is done already?! The past six weeks certainly flew by!

As you may have seen in the previous few posts, Bradford and Campbell-Savona partnered to offer a summer program for students. It was a great experience and the students enjoyed getting to know other students in the area.

We finished up our summer with a program offered by GST Boces, a field trip to Spencer Crest Nature Center in Corning and an ice cream party to celebrate our reading program! We had a lot to celebrate as we had a combined total of 545 hours read for the summer!!! What an accomplishment. I know it's difficult to read first thing in the morning, but I'm so proud of the students for accomplishing such a great thing. I hope they continue their reading habit for the rest of the summer as each of them went home with a free book from ProAction of Steuben & Yates Inc., a partner of the A-3 grant.

I'm looking forward to the upcoming school year and hear about the students' summer fun. It's approaching quickly!

Information about the A-3 program during the school year will be available on the calendar located at the bottom of the blog and Bradford's district website. If you have questions please let me know 607-377-9044.

Mossy Bank Field Trip

What a fun time we had at the field trip to Mossy Bank Park in Bath! We had some really great volunteers coordinate a whole day's worth of activities which included trail hiking, fitness stations, a fur station of local animals, catching butterflies, arts and crafts and recreation. We had a great compliment from Anne, the volunteer cooridnator. She said, 'What a great group of students you had. The most well-behaved we've had up here!" Definitely plan on visiting again soon. There is a lot to do and is very family friendly!

Culinary Creations

Students in Campbell - Savona and Bradford have paired together to make some really delicious foods! Some recipes include pumpkin and blueberry pies, chicken,  cheese and broccoli casserole just to name a few :)

End of the year field trip to Syracuse!

What an exciting day we had on Saturday! We got to visit the Rosamond Gifford Zoo in Syracuse and The WonderWorks museum at Destiny USA. I wish we had more time, there was so much to do and see!

I was so glad to have so many parents volunteer to chaperone, we had seven of them! Special Thanks to Mrs. Veley, Mr. & Mrs. Burke, Mrs. Simms, Mr. McAfee, Mrs. Waters and Mrs. Krusen.

Students had to pedal to get their cart to do a complete 360 degree flip!
